Food
Iranian food is very diverse, rich in fruits, vegetables and meat, various seeds and sweets. All types of meat are eaten except pork, including camel meat. Restaurants often offer kebabs, but if you want to try real Iranian cuisine, look for traditional restaurants that offer traditional dishes.
Drink
In Iran, the water is mostly drinkable, but it is always good to check first. Bottled water is available everywhere, and a lot of tea is drunk. Carbonated drinks and non alcoholic beer are common in restaurants. Alcohol is prohibited and cannot be purchased in public places.
Health information
There are no mandatory vaccines, and malaria is not widespread, so anti malaria pills are not necessary. We recommend that you consult your Public Health Service.
